Underwood House is a large, detached, secluded and peacefully situated country house with stunning views nestling in its own 5 acres close to the Wiltshire/Dorset border. It lies on the edge of a hamlet 4 miles north of the ancient hill top town of Shaftesbury and is within 5 minutes of the A303. Stourhead Gardens, Stonehenge and Salisbury are all within a 25 minute drive. The Dorset coast at Bournemouth and Poole is a 50 minute drive passing through Dorset's finest scenery. Bath is a 40 minute drive to the north and Longleat House & Safari Park are a 10 minute drive. There are numerous circular walks from the front door and a local pub within a 10 minute stroll.
The property offers ample reception rooms and bathrooms for a large group and provides superb accommodation for two families travelling together or for a reunion of friends and family. Nestling under the brow of a wooded hill the property enjoys glorious views from the garden and first floor balcony across to the Dorset hills beyond.

On the ground floor there is a large farmhouse size kitchen with oak doors and granite work surfaces, electric range oven, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, American style fridge/freezer, breakfast table, sofa and 50" plasma TV. Dining room with seating for 12 guests. Main sitting room with 42" plasma screen, DVD and CD and Broadband. Second sitting room with open fire. Downstairs cloakroom. Wheelchair friendly access to double bedroom with 5' double bed and fully tiled wet room with shower and WC. On the first floor is the master bedroom with 5' double bed, patio doors to the balcony and en-suite bathroom with power shower cubicle and bath. Double bedroom and en-suite shower room. Double bedroom with 5' bed and single bed (can be used as a twin room) and en-suite bathroom and patio doors to the balcony. A further double bedroom and a twin bedroom, each with patio door to the balcony, share a family bathroom with shower over bath. Travel cot and high chair available.
Outside there is a spacious south facing garden that is not overlooked including a large terrace facing the meadows with Gas BBQ and patio tables and chairs for 12. There is a side slope for a single car for wheelchair access and ample further off-street parking in the sweeping drive.
Parents of young children should be aware of a 2' drop and steps from the terrace to the parking area.
